Mumbai: Actor-turned-politician, Smriti Irani, has returned to the small screen with Ekta Kapoor’s ‘Kyuki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2’, a sitcom, which had made her a household name.
According to a report in India Forums, Smriti has already begun shooting for the show amid Z plus security.
“The mobile phones of everyone on the sets excluding Amar sir, Smriti Mam and Ekta mam will be taped. Everyone will be barred from using their mobile phones. Smriti is also shooting with Z plus security and everyone on sets will have to adhere to the strict security protocols laid,” a source was quoted as saying by the news portal.
Earlier this year in April, Balaji Telefilms head honcho, Ektaa Kapoor had confirmed the return of the most-loved daily soap ‘Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’ and left fans thrilled.
She had also shared that the reboot of the popular saas-bahu saga will comprise of 150 episodes and even hinted at the casting of a politician in the show.
“The love we have for this programme brought everyone related to it back together to complete just those 150 episodes to reach that 2000 episode. This show deserves that,” Ektaa said.
“We are bringing politics into entertainment, or better, a politician into entertainment,” she added.
