Tel Aviv / Jerusalem: On the second and concluding day of his two-day official state visit to Israel (Feb 25 – 26, 2026), Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled for a series of high-profile engagements focused on history, diplomacy, and deepening bilateral cooperation with Israel’s leadership.
Visit to Yad Vashem: PM Modi will begin his day with a solemn visit to Yad Vashem, the World Holocaust Remembrance Center in Jerusalem, to honour victims of the Holocaust, underscoring the importance of historical memory and mutual respect between the two nations.
Meeting with Israeli President: Following the tribute, he will hold a formal meeting with President Isaac Herzog, discussing aspects of bilateral relations, diplomatic cooperation, and global challenges.
Bilateral Talks & Agreements
Delegation-Level Talks with PM Netanyahu: In the afternoon, Modi and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu are expected to engage in delegation-level talks covering defence cooperation, technology partnerships, trade, and innovation. These talks build on Modi’s historic address to Israel’s parliament (the Knesset) from the previous day, where he highlighted strategic ties and counter-terror cooperation.
Signing of MoUs: Several Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) covering sectors such asdeep tech (AI, quantum computing, cybersecurity), economy (including Free Trade Agreement discussions), and defence cooperation are expected to be exchanged and announced during these discussions.
A joint press statement from the two leaders is anticipated after the talks conclude.
Late Afternoon — Interaction & Departure
Meeting the Indian Community: PM Modi will engage with the Indian diaspora in Israel, reflecting vibrant people-to-people links between the two countries.
Return to India: After concluding all scheduled engagements, Prime Minister Modi is set to depart Israel later this afternoon or evening, marking the end of his state visit.
This visit marks Modi’s second official visit to Israel since becoming Prime Minister.
On Wednesday (Feb 25), he became the first Indian Prime Minister to address the Israeli Knesset, where he underscored support for peace initiatives while condemning terrorism and affirming India-Israel partnership. He was also conferred the ‘Speaker of the Knesset Medal’, Israel’s highest parliamentary honour.
Defence and security cooperation, including potential technology collaboration on air defence systems, remain core pillars of discussions during this state visit.
