Bhubaneswar: An Air India Express flight en route to Bhubaneswar from Delhi made an unscheduled diversion and landed at Jaipur International Airport on Wednesday after the airline reported a mid-flight fuel shortage.
Flight IX-1057 departed from Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi but was redirected as a precautionary measure once concerns over fuel availability arose during the journey. The aircraft touched down without incident. The passengers were asked to remain seated inside the aircraft even after landing, the News18 reported.
An Air India Express spokesperson, however, later clarified, “Due to adverse weather conditions en route to Bhubaneswar, one of our flights from Delhi was diverted briefly to Jaipur. When the weather improved, the flight resumed its operations to Bhubaneswar.”
