Gangster Tito’s Associate Nabbed After Police Encounter

Kendrapara: Hardcore criminal and associate of gangster Tito alias Syed Usman Ali was arrested after an encounter with police on Ichhapur-Chagaria road in Kendrapara district late on Sunday.

The criminal has been identified as Babu Sahoo. He sustained bullet injuries in his right leg and was rushed to the district headquarters hospital and later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack after his condition deteriorated.

More than 50 criminal cases are pending against Babu at different police stations in Kendrapara, Jajpur, Jagatsinghpur and Cuttack.

Acting on a tip-off, a joint team of town police and special squad conducted a raid on Ichhapur-Chagaria road to nab the criminal.

Seeing the cops, the accused opened fire at them. The riding team also retaliated back in which the criminal sustained bullet injuries and fell down.

Gangster Tito is currently lodged at Barimul jail in the district. He was arrested after an encounter with Special Task Force (STF) of Odisha Crime Branch at Chandikhol area in Jajpur district on June 30.

The Crime Branch had taken Tito on remmand for 12 days in three phases for interrogation in connection with his involvement in various criminal activities and business links.
