Ganjam Introduces Another Measure To Check COVID Spread, Win People’s Trust
Berhampur: To check COVID transmission and create confidence among customers. the Ganjam administration has directed the traders to display their vaccination certificate in front of their shops
The notification issued by Collector Vijay Amruta Kulange said that shopkeepers, vendors and other retailers willing to open their establishments must get themselves and their staff vaccinated and display the vaccination certificate (either first or second dose) at their respective establishments.
The trader flouting the directive will not be allowed to open their establishments, he said.
The enforcement team will have routine checks to ensure that the directive is strictly followed by the traders, he added.
Lockdown restrictions were partially relaxed in the district from June 1 with shops being allowed to open from 6 am to 5 pm.
Ganjam has 212 active cases and a test positive rate of 1.1 per cent.
The district, which was a hotspot during the first wave, has been able to contain the spread of COVID through several measures and won praises for its COVID management model.
Last month, the administration had made the COVID-19 test (Rapid Antigen) mandatory for the bride, groom, their family members and other participants.
