Kandhamal: A German couple, exploring Odisha on bicycles, has described their visit to Daringbadi in Kandhamal district as a deeply joyful and unforgettable adventure.
Patrick and Annie, the cycling enthusiasts from Germany, embarked on their tour from Bhubaneswar, pedaling through iconic spots like Puri, Konark, and Satkosia before ascending to Daringbadi, popularly known as the Kashmir of Odisha. The duo was all praise for the region’s natural allure, pleasant climate and warm tribal hospitality.
The serene environment elevated their journey as they pedalled through the winding roads, gentle morning breeze and soft sunlight of the hill station. “We are on a cycling trip in Odisha. We like it very much because of the beautiful landscape, waterfalls and the friendly people. Of course, the food here is also awesome,” Patrick told a local channel.
He also expressed excitement over visiting a coffee plantation for the first time. “As a coffee lover, seeing the plantation was a unique and thrilling experience,” he added.
Daringbadi, celebrated for its tranquil landscape, cascading waterfalls, and thriving coffee estates, provided the couple with a much-needed respite from bustling urban life. Their odyssey also highlights Odisha’s rising prominence as a hub for eco-tourism and adventure travel. The couple, however, called for stronger conservation efforts to protect the state’s pristine landscapes for future generations.
