Get, Set & Football: Odisha Ready For ISL Fest

Bhubaneswar: After successfully hosting the Asian Athletics Championships and Hockey Champions Trophy, Hockey World League Finals last year, Odisha is all set to host the Indian Super League match between Jamshedpur FC and  Bengaluru FC.

The venue Kalinga Stadium is the home ground of Jamshedpur FC, which is owned by Tata Steel.
“Since Tata Steel has lot of presence in Bhubaneswar, we requested them to host a few matches in Bhubaneswar.  Though it would have been nice had we got two matches here, but this is good to start with,” said Sports Secretary Vishal Dev.
The match will be held on February 25 and a special pitch has been laid down for it. Around 12,000 spectators are expected to see the live spectacle.
“We will be holding a meeting with the Sports department tomorrow. A traffic advisory will be out by February 23 for the match,” said Commissioner YB Khurania.
On Wednesday, Odisha had announced to sponsor the India men and women’ hockey team for five years.
