Balasore: A day after a girl student reportedly died after falling from the roof of her hostel in Balasore, her mother has alleged that she was killed by her roommates.
Speaking to media persons, here, the Plus II student’s mother said her daughter’s classmates and the boarders in her hostel were envious of her as she was a brilliant student and was appreciated by her teachers for her performance in examinations. Their intolerance attitude led them to kill may daughter, she added.
“The authorities of the college hostel, where she was staying, used to inform the family, if she fell sick. But they did not bother to tell us about her death. There is definitely something foul in the whole incident,” she said.
On the other hand, police claimed that it was a suicide case. During investigation, it has come to light that the girl had allegedly stolen some money from her roommates of the hostel. Later, she had admitted to it and returned the money, the police said.
Besides, the footage from CCTV cameras installed in the college campus shows that she had jumped from the roof of the four-storey hostel, the police said.
The girl, belonging to Bisoi area of Mayurbhanj, was studying Plus II in the residential private college in Balasore town. In the evening, she had gone to roof, her hostel roommates said. After some time, the hostel boarders found her lying dead on the ground and informed the college authorities who have filed a case in Balasore Sadar police station.
