Malkangiri: A Class X student of Sikhapali Residential School at MV-29 under Balimela block in Malkangiri district on Thursday night.
The deceased has been identified as Bandana Sarkar.
According to available information, the hostel warden spotted the girl’s body lying in a pool of blood with cut marks on her hand in the computer room of the school.
Following this, the school staff rushed the girl to a local hospital where the doctors declared her brought dead. The doctors told the school authorities that the girl died of excessive bleeding.
Though the hostel warden informed that Bandana was completely normal while having dinner last night, the family members of the deceased alleged that she was raped and murdered.
However, police have started investigation after sending the body for post mortem.
