Global Hit: ‘Pathaan’ First Bollywood Film To Gross Rs 100 Crore On Day 1
Mumbai: The protests and controversies dogging ‘Pathaan’ in the weeks leading up to its release seem to have boosted the Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone film immensely.
That there was a massive interest about the Yash Raj Films’ spy universe movie was seen from the advance bookings figures in India and abroad. And the revenue grossed from Day 1 screenings has only confirmed that.
Shah Rukh’s first major film after a gap of over four years delivered the biggest ever opening day not only in India, but across the world.
Pinkvilla reported ‘Pathaan’ made around Rs 67 crore (including Tamil and Telugu language releases) in India, and an estimated $4.5 million (Rs 36 crore) from overseas markets on Wednesday, taking the aggregate to Rs 102 crore.
