Washington: The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has placed gangster Satinderjeet Singh — alias Goldy Brar — on its Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list, coupling the move with a $1 million reward for information that leads to his capture.
Brar, accused of ordering the killing of Khalistan separatist Harjit Singh Nijjar, is being pursued as the North American head of the Lawrence Bishnoi Organised Crime Group, which US investigators say has been tied to a series of violent offences across the United States and Canada.
FBI Statement & Warning
“Satinderjeet Singh is wanted for his alleged involvement in the Lawrence Bishnoi Organised Crime Group, which is allegedly engaged in a variety of violent acts in Southern California and across the United States and Canada. A reward of up to USD 1,000,000 is offered for information leading to his arrest,” the FBI said in a statement.
Agents have cautioned that Brar must be treated as armed, dangerous and likely to flee, and believe he is currently operating from within the US as the alleged leader of the Bishnoi gang’s North American wing, as reported by NDTV.
Operation Hardball & Charges
The FBI says Brar is now in the US and faces federal charges in California. He is accused of racketeering conspiracy, extortion and attempted extortion, and conspiracy to traffic drugs.
The bureau lists his other names as Satinderjeet Singh Brar and Satinder Jit Singh Brar.
Brar was named as a fugitive in Operation Hardball, a long US investigation into India-linked international crime groups. Investigators say he was a leader of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang and that he and Bishnoi ordered the 2023 killing of Hardeep Singh Nijjar in Canada, as reported by DNA.
The case also mentions the alleged theft of about 520 kg of cocaine from the Los Angeles area. US authorities say Brar is dangerous and have told the public not to try to approach him. US and Canadian agencies are working together to catch him.
The bureau is urging the public not to approach Brar directly and to pass any information through official channels.
