Paralakhemundi (Odisha): TP Southern Odisha Distribution Limited (TPSODL) launched its Solar Rath from the District Collectorate Office in Gajapati district’s Paralakhemundi during the Seva Setu Abhiyan.
The Solar Rath was jointly flagged off by Collector & District Magistrate of Gajapati Akshay Sunil Agrawal and TPSODL CEO Amit Kumar Garg to take the message of clean and renewable energy closer to communities, and encourage wider adoption of rooftop solar under the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana (PMSGMBY).
The Solar Rath will cover all seven blocks of Gajapati district — Paralakhemundi, Kasinagar, Gumma, Mohana, Nuagada, R. Udaygiri and Rayagada where information on rooftop solar will be conveyed directly to communities.
Consumers are being informed about the benefits of rooftop solar, available financial assistance, installation process and potential of solar energy to help households reduce their electricity expenditure while contributing to a cleaner and greener future.
“The Solar Rath is taking the message of rooftop solar directly to consumers and communities across Gajapati. Through this initiative, we aim to simplify information around the PM Surya Ghar scheme, address consumer queries and encourage more households to explore the benefits of rooftop solar. Our aim is to make clean energy more accessible and help consumers become active participants in Odisha’s renewable energy journey,” said Garg.
