Goods Train Derails In Telangana; Check Trains Affected On Odisha Route
Hyderabad: Rail traffic between Delhi and Chennai was severely disrupted after 11 wagons of a goods train derailed near Raghavapur railway station in Telangana’s Peddapally district late on Tuesday night.
No casualty or injury was reported in the incident.
However, the derailment impacted more than 30 long-distance express trains, which were either cancelled or diverted following the derailment of 11 rakes of the goods train carrying iron coils from Ghaziabad towards Kazipet junction.
Some of the trains on the Chennai/Visakhapatnam-Delhi route, scheduled to pass through Odisha’s Titlagarh and Rayagada, have been diverted and stoppages skipped at some stations.

Restoration work was taken up on an emergency basis to remove the derailed wagons and repair damage to the track.
“We are working tirelessly to restore the tracks and minimise disruption in train services. Safety of passengers is our top priority and we are making every effort to complete track restoration soon,” a South Central Railway spokesperson said.
Last week, three coaches of Secunderabad-Shalimar Superfast Express derailed near Howrah in West Bengal.
