Goods Train Derails Near Odisha’s Berhampur  

 

Berhampur: A goods train was derailed between Berhampur and Golanthra stations on Thursday night. Two wagons got derailed. One wagon derailed at about 4.45 am this morning.

The two bogies of the train were derailed while it was en-route to Visakhapatnam from Khurda road.

According to the sources, these were empty wagons going from Khurda Road to Waltair for repair. As it was an empty goods train, no casualties were reported and no major problems occurred.

Senior officers from Khurda Road and Berhampur reached the site in the night with a relief train. Khurda Road ADRM, S. P. Dwivedi is supervising restoration operations at the site.

As the repair work is on, the Puri -Palasa and Bhubaneswar – Berhampur passenger trains were cancelled this morning.

Rest of the trains on the Down Line will be free.
