Paradip: A goods train derailed near the old railway station at Paradip in Odisha’s Jagatsinghpur district on Saturday. No injury to anyone was reported due to the incident.
Sources said four wagons of the goods train skidded off the tracks soon after it left Paradip Port and reached the old railway station. Train service on the track was affected because of the derailment.
Arrangements are being made by the railways authorirties to rerail the wagons and restore normal operations on the track.
While the exact cause of the derailment is yet to be ascertained, it was suspected to have been caused by coal gathered on the tracks. Further details are awaited.
