Google Bans Call-Recording Apps From Play Store

New Delhi: Keeping users’ safety and privacy in mind, Google has implemented a new Play Store policy to prevent third-party apps from using the Accessibility API.

Among changes and updates on its developer policies are Android’s accessibility settings to stop remote call audio recording, reported ANI. Call audio recording was a popular feature among Android users.

According to GSM Arena, the changes are for improved privacy and security, as call recording laws across vary from country to country.

System and pre-installed apps which already have permission to tap on the Accessibility API won’t, however, be affected.

“The Accessibility API is not designed and cannot be requested for remote call audio recording,” says a clause from the updated Play Store policy.
