New Delhi: Google recently removed several apps for malicious activity. They were discovered by researchers at McAfee and have been downloaded over 2.5 million times. The apps are said to be capable of running advertisements while the device remains unused. This leads to the draining of battery life and loss of mobile data even when the phone’s screen is off. Google has removed these apps from Play Store for policy violation. However, Android users who have downloaded them need to manually delete them from their devices.
