Bhubaneswar: The officials of different departments of Odisha government on Tuesday carried out a survey on the route of the proposed roadshow of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Bhubaneswar on May 10.

Speaking to media persons on the sideline of the survey, Bhubaneswar DCP Prateek Singh said the officials of different government agencies conducted the survey to ensure different aspects during the roadshow on the route from Master Canteen square to Vani Vihar square.

Besides security of the Prime Minister, crowd control, movement of vehicular traffic, provision of basic amenities and emergency services were looked into during the survey. Both sides of the road on the route will be barricaded with deployment of police personnel, he added.

On the officials who participated in the survey, Singh said, “All agencies of the government concerned including police, Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), administration, road transport, sanitation, health and SPG were involved in the ground level inspection.”

For the security of the Prime Minister, he said the Commissionerate of Police held a separate meeting with the SPG officers. It will be put in place as per the security protocol of the Prime Minister, he added.

On being asked how many vehicles will participate in the roadshow, Singh said, “The limitation for the purpose has not been fixed as yet. But the rule book for the Prime Minister’s programme will be followed.”

On the exact distance of the roadshow, the DCP said the starting and ending point of the roadshow would be decided after the inspection by the officials.
