Govt Sends Team To Evict Ram Vilas Paswan’s Son Chirag; Know Why

New Delhi: A team of Central government officials was sent to get the bungalow occupied by Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) president Chirag Paswan vacated.

The bungalow was the official residence of Chirag’s late father and former Union minister Ram Vilas Paswan. He lived there for nearly three decades before passing away in October 2020. In August 2021, it was allotted to Union Railways and IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw. But despite a couple of notices, Chirag didn’t vacate the bungalow, The Indian Express reported.

The Directorate of Estates (DoE), under Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, sent a team to 12 Janpath to make sure that the bungalow was vacated.

According to a government official, it’s a routine procedure to send a team following eviction notices.

Chirag Paswan is already living in a flat earmarked for MPs, but had been using 12 Janpath as the official address of LJP. Organizational meetings and other events were being held there regularly.

He had reportedly expressed the desire to keep the bungalow till a year of his father’s death. But almost six months have passed since Ram Vilas Paswan’s first death anniversary, but even then Chirag didn’t vacate the bungalow. Hence, the Central government’s move.
