Govt Supply Of COVID-19 Vaccines To Private Hospitals To Stop In Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The state government on Thursday directed the district collectors to stop supply of COVID-19 vaccines from district stores after April 30.

In a letter to the collectors, municipal commissioners of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack and CDM & PHOs, PK Mohapatra, additional chief secretary, Health and Family Welfare department said the previous system of private COVID-19 vaccination centres receiving vaccine doses from the Government of India supply at districts level and charging Rs 250 per dose from the beneficiaries will cease to exist from May 1.

All private hospitals will have to source their vaccines directly from the manufacturers under the 50% vaccines earmarked for the ‘other than Government of India channels’.

The officials were directed to stop the supply of COVID-19 vaccines to the private CVCs after April 30 in their respective areas.
