Bhubaneswar: To prepare the roadmap ahead of the monsoon session of the state assembly scheduled to commence from Thursday, the ruling BJD convened its legislature party meeting on Wednesday.
Following the meeting, chief minister emphasised that suitable proposals should be brought by the opposition during the assembly session for taking the same into account.
“As many as nine bills would be tabled during the eight working days of the session. Several issues faced by the state, including central negligence and the Mahanadi water dispute, will be raised in the assembly,” parliamentary affairs minister Bikram Keshari Arukh informed.
Meanwhile, DGP Rajendra Prasad Sharma reviewed security arrangements for the assembly session. “A three-tier security will be put in place and adequate number of CCTV cameras installed to keep an eye on suspicious elements. A total of 25 platoons of police force will be deployed and bomb and dog squads engaged to prevent any untoward incident,” he said.
