Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister on Monday said an Ayushman Arogya Mandir would be set up in every gram panchayat of the state.
He was speaking at the signing of an MoU between the Odisha government and the Centre for rolling out Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) by integrating it with the state’s Gopabandhu Jan Arogya Yojana.
Stating that Odisha was poised for a revolution in health services sector with the launch of AB-PMJAY, Majhi said since the health sub-centres in panchayats were not working satisfactorily, Ayushman Arogya Mandir would be opened to cater to medical and healthcare needs of the people.
Every Ayushman Arogya Mandir would have a team comprising one ANM (Auxiliary Nursing Midwifery), a yoga teacher and a health worker. The requisite financial allotment would be made in the budget for the infrastructure of Ayushman Arogya Mandir, he added.
“Ayushman Bharat Mandirs will be established with the goal of delivering healthcare services to rural areas. An instructor will be present at each Mandir, and we will also provide additional facilities and services alongside healthcare workers. The government remains committed to transforming the healthcare sector through various initiatives, paving the way toward a “Viksit Odisha” by 2036 and a “Viksit Bharat” by 2047,” he said.
The MoU was signed by Secretary of Health and Family Welfare, Odisha, Aswathy S and CEO of National Health Authority (NHA) L S Changsan, in the presence of Union Health Minister J P Nadda, Chief Minister Mohan Majhi, Deputy Chief Minister KV Singh Deo, and Odisha Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling.
With this, Odisha has become the 34th state/UT to implement the scheme, providing comprehensive healthcare coverage to economically vulnerable families.
