New Delhi: Environmental activist Disha Ravi was on Friday sent to three-day judicial custody in connection with the Greta Thunberg toolkit case.
Disha filed an application for bail, which will be heard on Saturday.
Appearing on behalf of Delhi Police, Additional Public Prosecutor Irfan Ahmad told the metropolitan magistrate court: “During interrogation, she was evasive in giving her replies. We have served a notice to co-accused Shantanu Muluk to join the investigation on February 22. We will confront Disha Ravi with the co-accused to check out if any contradictions are there in their statements.”
Ahmad added: “She has shifted the blame upon Shantanu and co-accused Nikita Jacob. They all need to be confronted.”
Opposing the police application, Disha’s lawyer Sidharth Aggarwal told the court: “The police must hand over the case diary to the court. There is a possibility of tampering in this case. They are claiming various things.”
Teenaged Swedish activist Greta had tweeted the toolkit on farmers’ protest on February 3.
Delhi Police filed an FIR against Greta, while Disha was arrested from Bengaluru. Advocate-activist Nikita Jacob and Shantanu Muluk have secured transit bail.
Delhi Police has claimed Disha is the “key conspirator” behind formulation and dissemination of the document and that she collaborated with a pro-Khalistani foundation to “spread disaffection against Indian state”. She is alleged to have shared the toolkit doc with Greta.
