Guinness Record: Odia Punchman Aims To Dethrone Slovakia Striker For World Title
Bhubaneswar: Popular as the Punchman of India, Satyapira Padhan, will aim for his next Guinness World Record in Bhubaneswar on July 23.
In a special programme to be organised in the Capital City he will have to break the Record set by Slovakia punch striker Pavel Trusov.
While Suresh Chandra Chhatria will be the expert witness, Sugyan Kesharee Pradhan will be punch pad keeper and Sasmita Rautaray (Sports Officer, LR DAV Cuttack) and Gajendra Barik will take up the responsibility as time keepers.
He received the permission for Guinness World Record on July 7. Padhan will attempt to create a new world record by striking maximum punches with both hands.
Hailing from Deypur village of Kalahandi district, Padhan has already made two world records– one in 2017 and another in 2018–setting an example for many youth in the country. He has been honoured by Chief Minister Naveen Pattnaik for this unique achievement.
Having special interest in martial arts and mountaineering, he has also obtained Masters degree in Physiotherapy (Neurology) from Utkal University here. He has also been honoured with KaramVeer Award at IIT, Delhi on behalf of United Nations (UN).
Originally hailing from Deypur village of Kalahandi district, his parents Anirudha & Sakuntala and wife Nibedita Pradhan have been his constant support.
