Gurugram: A man was dragged out of his house, publicly paraded and slapped with an FIR in Gurugram, Haryana, after feeding chicken momos to a cow.
The 28-year-old man, who identified himself as Hrithik Chandna, admitted that he made and circulated a video of the cow eating chicken momos from his plate after being ‘brainwashed’ by certain people.
Members of the Bajrang Dal reacted soon after the video went viral and registered an FIR against Chandna. He was arrested and released on bail later.
The uproar erupted on Sunday during a live stream Chandna hosted on the Prism app. The footage captures him attempting a challenge to eat a full plate of momos and even seeking confirmation from the vendor that they contained chicken.
He is then seen offering his plate to the cow. The bovine then chomps on the momos and Chandna is heard saying that they are paneer momos.
When accosted by people, the man is seen apologising with folded hands. He claims that it was the first video he made after being influenced by some people who transferred Rs 3,000-4,000 to his account.
Chandna, from New Colony in Gurugram, says that his mother is a doctor and his father a businessman. He also promises never to make such videos again. He also says that he deleted the original video. However, it had gone viral by then.
