Gyana Patnaik Elected New President Of Odisha Society of Americas

Chicago: IT professional from Chicago Gyana Patnaik was elected as the new president of Odisha Society of Americas (OSA) in a keenly-contested online election.

Akshaya Ray from Michigan got elected as the OSA Vice-President, Tennessee-based Pramod Mahapatra will be the new secretary and Prachee Behera of Southwest got elected as the treasurer.

The new office bearers will take over charge during the OSA annual convention in the first week of July. They will hold office for a two-year term till 2023.

World Odisha Society Chairman Kishore Dwibedi congratulated the newly-elected office bearers. Dwibedi expressed hope that the OSA will continue to play a vital role for the wellbeing of the Odia diaspora in USA and renew co-operation for the development of the mother state of Odisha.

Established in 1959, OSA is the oldest and largest organisation of non-resident Odias in America. It has 19 state chapters, including Canada, at present.
