‘Hang Me If You Want … Don’t Allow Politics To Obstruct Development In Odisha’: BJD Leader Pranab Das
Jajpur: Asserting that he worked wholeheartedly for the development of Odisha in last 12 years, senior Biju Janata Dal (BJD) leader Pranab Prakash Das on Monday said that politics should not be allowed to obstruct progress of any area in the state.
Stating that Jajpur was once the capital of Odisha, the former Minister said after independence Jajpur was neglected to a great extent and it never got its due.
However, for the past 12 years, former Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik made it possible to develop Jajpur where the famous ‘Biraja Kshetra’ happens to be one of the 51 Shakti Peethas in the country, he said while speaking at an event.
“Naveen Patnaik is a major source of inspiration for me. With his blessings, I have tried my best to work for the development of this district and Jajpur town,” said Das, who hails from Jajpur.
Stressing that he never runs after power or position, the BJD leader said Naveen Patnaik gave him many things and a lot of work for the development of Jajpur and other areas in the state could be done with his blessings.
If you want to hang me, then let me hang. If you want to hang me, then block the development of the city. Politicize on the issue of rights or development. Let’s do it.”
Urging people to ensure that politics does not obstruct development, the BJD leader said, “If you want to hang me, then do so. But never put obstacles on the path of development of Jajpur. Politics should not be allowed hinder development.”
