Cuttack: The Orissa High Court on Monday directed the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) to submit a detailed status report on the repair of Jagannath Temple in Puri and Sun Temple at Konark.
The court issued the directive in response to a public interest litigation (PIL) petition and directed the ASI superintendent to apprise the court of the technical details of the repair of the damaged structures of these temples.
The court also admitted a misc case on the Sun Temple by a petitioner praying the urgent intervention of the court to direct the concerned authorities to sanction Rs 2000 crore towards the complete repair of the temple. The court will hear the case on Tuesday.
