The machines, which allows around 60 different health tests, have been installed at the primary health centres (PHCs), including Phiringia, Nuapadara, Gochhapada, Balandapada, and a sub-centre at Sadangia in collaboration with an NGO and a financial services group.
A live demonstration was also conducted by technicians and medical officers, highlighting the function and benefits of the health ATM, at Phiringia PHC.
Besides basic health check-up, patients can undergo eye tests, ENT, skin and nail check-up, blood tests, lipid profile test and receive quick and more efficient test reports even in Odia. “Patients in rural areas will benefit from it, as they can consult with doctors over phone and send reports through WhatsApp or email,” Kandhamal CDMO Santosh Kumar Padhy told the media.
These are solar-powered and can function in remote areas where lack of electricity can be a problem, he added.
