Health Secy Comes To Rescue Of Man With Kidney Failure In Odisha’s Jajpur
Bhubaneswar: A person, suffering from failure of two kidneys, was extended treatment in Odisha’s Jajpur on intervention of Health secretary after his condition was reported in news portal odishasambad.in.
As per the report, Rajesh Majhi of Bitana village had gone out of the state for earning livelihood four months after his marriage. As he fell ill there, he consulted the doctors who diagnosed him to have kidney ailment. Rajesh and his newly married wife face an uncertain future as he cannot afford costly treatment due to his poor financial condition.
On coming to know about the condition of Rajesh, Shalini Pandit, secretary, Health and Family Welfare intervened and directed the officials to contact him through Biju Swathya Klayan (BSKY) team. He was given initial treatment in Jajpur district headquarters hospital and then referred to SCB Medical College and Hospital at Cuttack for specialty care.
After Rajesh was diagnosed having failure of both his kidneys, he was provided all treatment and medicine free of cost under BSKY, NIDAN, and Niramaya schemes of the state government. Presently, he is undergoing dialysis free of cost at the DHH. Steps will be taken for kidney transplant if eligible donor will be available.
Pandit has thanked BSKY team for quick delivery of services and editorial board of Odisasambad.in for reflecting sufferings of a poor person as a result of which he could be provided hospital care.
