Heat Wave Intensifies In Odisha, Talcher Sizzles At 41.1°C
Bhubaneswar: Most of parts of Odisha experienced heat wave conditions with the temperature soaring above 40 degree Celsius in five places on Friday.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the temperature recorded for the last 24 hours till 8.30 am on Friday was highest in the industrial town of Talcher in Angul at 41.1 degree Celsius. The temperature remained at 40 degrees and above in Titlagarh (41), Balangir (40.7) Malkangiri (40.2) and Boudh (40.5).
Besides, the maximum day temperature remained close to 40 degrees at Chandbali (38.7), Cuttack (39.2), Bhubaneswar (39.3), Angul (39.7), Baripada (38.2), Jharsuguda (39.4), Sambalpur (39), Hirakud (39.1), Bhawanipatna (38.5), Sonepur (39), Nayagarh (39.7) and Paralakhemundi (38).
In its mid-day bulletin later, IMD said that though there will be thunderstorm and lightning accompanied by the gusty wind speed at one or two places across the state for five days till April 7, the maximum day temperature will remain above normal by 2-3°C in the coastal and interior districts of Odisha during the period.

Thunderstorm with lightning at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Sundargarh, Nuapada Balangir, Koraput, Bhadrak, Rayagada and Gajapati.
April 4
Thunderstorm with lightning at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Bhadrak, Cuttack, Jajpur, Ganjam and Gajapati.
April 5
Thunderstorm with lightning at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada and Nabarangpur.
April 6
Thunderstorm with lightning at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Bargarh, Nuapada, Nabarangpur, Jharsuguda and Mayurbhanj.
April 7
Thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching up to 30-40 kmph at one or two places over the districts of north coastal Odisha, Dhenkanal, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal and Keonjhar.
