Heatwave Condition Continues In Odisha; 8 Urban Centres Record 39 Degree Celsius & Above
Bhubaneswar: Heatwave condition continued to prevail in Odisha for second day on Thursday when as many as 8 urban centres recorded temperature of 39 degree Celsius.
According to evening bulletin of the regional centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Balangir town was the hottest place in the state with maximum temperature of 40.6 degree Celsius, followed by Boudh with 40 degree.
While Titlagarh recorded 39.6 degree Celsius, Bhawanipatna followed it with 39.4, Jharsuguda and Sonepur with 39.2, Sambalpur 39.1 and Nayagarh with 39 degree Celsius.
Twin Cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack registered 36.2 and 37.8 degree Celsius respectively. Gopalpur had the lowest maximum temperature of 31 degree Celsius.
The IMD has issued yellow warning for different districts for next two days.
According to the forecast of the national weather agency, heatwave condition is very likely to prevail at one or two places in Angul, Jharsuguda, Sonepur, Sambalpur, Boudh, Bolangir, Nayagarh till 8.30 am of Friday.
Similarly, heatwave condition is very likely to prevail at one or two places in Angul, Sambalpur, Sonepur, Boudh and Balangir districts from 8.30 am of Friday to 8.30 am of Saturday.
