Heavy Rain To Lash Odisha For 5 Days With A Brief Break; IMD Issues Yellow Warning
Bhubaneswar: Most parts of Odisha are likely to be lashed by rain and thundershower of varied intensity for the next one week with the likelihood of heavy downpour in some areas, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Sunday
In its midday bulletin, the Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar said that light to moderate rain/thundershower may occur at most places over the districts of Odisha in the next 24 hours.
While rainfall of varied intensity is likely to continue for around a week in most parts of the state, several areas will experience heavy to very heavy rain till July 19 morning. However, the intensity of rain may come down on July 16.
It further said that a cyclonic circulation lies over Gangetic West Bengal and adjoining Jharkhand and Odisha.
The weather agency also issued yellow warning of heavy to very heavy rain at one or two places over Koraput, Malkangiri and heavy rainfall at one or two places over Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Nabarangpur, Bargarh, Balangir, Nuapada, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Angul, Cuttack, and Dhenkanal districts in the next 24 hours.
Similarly, yellow warning was issued for thunderstorm with lightning at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, and Gajapati during the period.

July 18
Yellow Warning: Heavy rain may occur at one or two places over the districts of Koraput, Malkangiri, Ganjam, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Nabarangpur, and Rayagada.
