Heavy Rain To Resume In Odisha Tomorrow; Intense Spells Likely On July 7

Bhubaneswar: Heavy rainfall may resume in Odisha from July 6 and continue for another 3 days, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) informed on Friday.

According to the weather agency thunderstorm with lightning is likely at one or two places in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam and Gajapati on July 5.  Light to moderate rain/thundershower may also occur at many places in interior Odisha and at a few places in coastal districts of the state. Bhubaneswar may experience cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain or thundershower.

On July 6, heavy rainfall may lash one or two place in Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Koraput and Malkangiri.

The intensity of rain is likely to increase during the subsequent 24 hours. There is a warning for heavy to very heavy rain at one or two in Koraput, Malkangiri, Kandhamal, and Ganjam on July 7. Heavy rain may also continue in Gajapati, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Nabarangpur, Khurda, Nayagarh, Cuttack, Puri, Mayurbhanj and Keonjhar districts.

On July 8, heavy rainfall is likely at one or two places in Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, Gajapati, Ganjam, and Kandhamal districts. Similar warning has been issued for Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Mayurbhanj, and Keonjhar on July 9.

Light to moderate rain/thundershower may also occur at many places across the state till July 11, it added.
