Baripada: The Mayurbhanj administration has announced the closure of government and private schools in the district on Monday in view of very heavy rain forecast under the influence of a low-pressure area over Bay of Bengal.
All Anganwadi centres across the district will also remain closed for three days starting Monday as a precautionary measure, District Collector Hema Kanta Say informed.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued orange warning of very heavy rain and thunderstorm/lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph for one or two places in Mayurbhanj on June 30. The warning continues for the district till July 5.
