Bhubaneswar: Odisha is likely to experience heavy to very heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorm activity till July 7 under the influence of a cyclonic circulation over south Jharkhand & neighbourhood and active southwest monsoon currents, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) informed on Wednesday.
The weather agency has issued an orange warning for Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Koraput, Sonepur, Bargarh, Kalahandi, Mayurbhanj and Keonjhar districts on July 2-5-6.
Squally weather may also prevail with wind speed 35-45 kmph gusting to 55 kmph along and off Odisha coasts on July 2 when sea condition is likely to be rough to very rough. Fishermen are advised not to venture into the sea along and off Odisha coast during this period.

Orange Warning: Heavy to very heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorm/lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph may occur at one or two places in Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Koraput, Sonepur, Bargarh, and Kalahandi.
Yellow Warning: Heavy rain along with thunderstorm/lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph is also likely at one or two places in Malkangiri, Balangir, Nuapada, Nabarangpur, Gajapati, Boudh, Angul, Deogarh, Kandhamal, Rayagada, and Ganjam.

Yellow Warning: Heavy rain along with thunderstorm/lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph may occur at one or two places in Sonepur, Bargarh, Balangir, Boudh, and Nuapada.
July 4
Yellow Warning: Heavy rain is likely at one or two places in Bargarh, Balangir, and Sonepur.
July 5
Orange Warning: Heavy to very heavy rain may occur at one or two places in Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar and Sundargarh.
Yellow Warning: Heavy rain is also likely at one or two places in Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Bhadrak and Balasore.
July 6
Orange Warning: Heavy to very heavy rain may occur at one or two places in Jharsuguda and Bargarh.
Yellow Warning: Heavy rain is also likely at one or two places in Sambalpur, Deogarh, Keonjhar, and Sundargarh.
July 7
Yellow Warning: Heavy rain may occur at one or two places in Jharsuguda and Bargarh.
Though there is no warning thereafter, light to moderate rain or thundershower may continue at a few places in the state, it added.
