Bhubaneswar: Odisha is likely to experience heavy to very heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorm activity till July 6 under the influence of a cyclonic circulation over north Odisha adjoining Gangetic West Bengal.
“The trough now runs from northeast Arabian sea to northwest Bay of Bengal across Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, the above cyclonic circulation over north Odisha adjoining Gangetic West Bengal,” the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said in its midday bulletin on Thursday.
The weather agency has issued orange warning for Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Koraput, Sonepur, Bargarh, Kalahandi, Mayurbhanj and Keonjhar districts on July 3-4-5. One or two spells of rain or thundershowers is also likely in the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack during the next seven days.

Though there is no warning thereafter, light to moderate rain or thundershower may continue in the state till July 13, it added.
