Heavy To Very Heavy Rain To Lash Odisha For 3 More Days; Yellow Warning By IMD Continues

Bhubaneswar: Rainfall activity is likely to continue across Odisha for the next one week amid the likelihood of heavy downpour for three more days in several areas, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, the cyclonic circulation over Jharkhand and neighbourhood now lies over Gangetic West Bengal and neighbourhood and extends up to 3.1 km above mean sea level.

In its midday bulletin, the Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar said that rainfall of varied intensity is likely to lash most parts of the state for at least a week. Light to moderate rain/thundershower may occur at most places over the districts of Odisha.

The weather agency issued yellow warning of heavy rainfall (7 to 11cm) in at least 15 districts of the state during the next 24 hours. These districts are Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jajpur, Angul, Dhenkanal, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Bargarh, and Jagatsinghpur.

Yellow Warning: Heavy to very heavy rainfall (7 to 20 cm) is likely to occur at one or two places of Angul, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Boudh, Sonepur, Sambalpur and heavy rainfall (7 to 11cm) at some places of Bhadrak, Balasore, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Balangir, Nuapada, Nayagarh, Khurda, Jagatsinghpur, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, and Kalahandi districts.

Yellow Warning: Heavy rainfall (7 to 11cm) is likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Bargarh, Keonjhar, Sambalpur, and Deogarh districts.
