Here’s What Rohit Sharma Said On Dravid’s Appointment As India Head Coach

Dubai: India vice-captain Rohit Sharma welcomed former India skipper Rahul Dravid’s appointment as the head coach of the team. He said that the players were looking forward to working with the batting legend.

“We were playing the game (against Afghanistan), so I had no idea (about it). Congratulations to him (Rahul Dravid) for coming back in a different capacity in the Indian team, we look forward to working with him,” Rohit said at the virtual press conference, hours after the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) appointed Dravid as the team’s head coach.

Dravid, who was working as the head of the National Cricket Academy, has been given the India team’s charge for a period of two years till the 2023 50-over World Cup to be staged in India.

The Wall will take charge of the team from the upcoming home series against New Zealand, beginning November 17.

“He (Dravid) is a stalwart of Indian cricket and it will be nice working with him in future,” said Rohit.
