Here’s Why Akshay Kumar Called On Yogi Adityanath In Mumbai
Mumbai: Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar called on Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who is in Mumbai, and discussed his upcoming film ‘Ram Setu’ on Tuesday evening.
The actor and the UP chief minister met for dinner at the Trident Hotel here on Tuesday night, according to a government spokesman.
According to news agency IANS, the chief minister will be meeting a galaxy of film personalities in Mumbai on Wednesday. Adityanath appreciated Akshay’s efforts in making films with a social message.
The actor, it is learnt, also lauded the steps being taken by the Yogi Adityanath government to promote film making in Uttar Pradesh. He told the Chief Minister that he had shot several films in the state.
Adityanath is also learnt to have told the actor about the proposal to set up a film city in Uttar Pradesh.
It may be recalled that Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister had in September revealed his plan to set up a film city in Noida and offered the filmmakers to come to Uttar Pradesh to make films.
However, filmmakers including Subhash Ghai, Rajkumar Santoshi, Sudhir Mishra, Boney Kapoor, Ramesh Sippy, Tigmanshu Dhulia, Madhur Bhandarkar, Umesh Shukla, T-Series head Bhushan Kumar, Jayantilal Gada of Pen Studios, and producer Siddharth Roy Kapur are part of the delegation invited for a meeting with Adityanath.
