Hockey Odisha Beats Hockey Bhopal, Hockey Gangpur Hold Punjab & Sind Bank To 1-1 Draw

Lucknow: Hockey Odisha registered its first win after beating Hockey Bhopal 3-2, while Hockey Gangpur-Odisha held Punjab & Sind Bank 1-1, in the second match of Pool B on Day two of the Senior Men’s National Championship on Friday.

Hockey Odisha scored the first goal after Arbin Barla netted one through penalty corner in the 27th minute. Hockey Bhopal then took the lead after netting two goals in the 34thminute and 40th minute. Hockey Odisha levelled the score once again in the same minute, courtesy a penalty corner. The final nail was hammered in the 55 minute.

In the other match, Hockey Gangpur took the early lead in the first minute itself, when Shilanand Lakra, fresh from his experience at the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup in Ipoh, scored a field goal.

In the dying minutes of the same quarter, Punjab & Sind Bank put their initial stutters aside to score an equalizer in the 15th minute as Gaganpreet Singh converted a Penalty Corner.

The remaining there quarters remained off any goals as both the teams went on to draw the match 1-1.
