Bhubaneswar: The holy soil of Konark temple and water from two rivers in Odisha have been collected and sent to Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh for the “Bhoomi Puja” of the Ram temple.
Three members of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), Rama Krusha Mohanty, Bhagirathy Swain and Sarat Malla, along with other activists collected the holy water of rivers Chandrabhaga and Prachi and soil near the Sun Temple on Saturday, according to VHP sources. The holy soil and water were sent to Ayodhya by courier.
The “Bhoomi Puja” for the Ram temple at Ayodhya is scheduled to be held on August 5. The VHP has invited Prime Minister Narendra Modi to attend the ground-breaking ceremony.
The sources said the event will be attended by 200 people due to social distancing norms of COVID-19.
