Mumbai: Celebrated Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh has dethroned Bollywood Badshah Shah Rukh Khan to occupy the first spot in UK’s Top 50 Asian celebrities’ list.
Diljit’s superhit songs, his film roles, international collaboration and the recent superhit Dil-Luminati Tour in several Indian cities helped him outshine last year’s topper Shah Rukh.
A delighted Diljit took to his Instagram handle and shared the song ‘Born To Shine’ along with the Top Asian Celebrities’ List posted by the UK weekly Eastern Eye.
In another Instagram story, the singer shared his new song ‘Don’ to celebrate his top rank.
Singer Charli XCX bagged second place, while ‘Pushpa’ star Allu Arjun occupied third spot.
Dev Patel is 4th on the list, followed by Priyanka Chopra, actor Vijay and singer Arijit Singh in that order.
Other Indian celebrities to feature on the list include Prabhas (14th), Rajkummar Rao (15th), Kartik Aaryan (25th), Amitabh Bachchan (26th), Alia Bhatt (30th), Shah Rukh Khan (32nd), and Hrithik Roshan (47th).
On the work front, Diljit is busy with his Dil-Luminati concert. The tour kicked off in Delhi on October 26, followed by concerts in Jaipur, Lucknow, Hyderabad and Ahmedabad.
On Thursday, he performed in Mumbai. Sharing a video from his Mumbai concert on Instagram, the singer wrote, “Mumbai (heart hands emoji). I Rise Above Your Advice (smiling face with horns emoji).”
Diljit will wrap up the musical tour in Guwahati on December 29.
