Odisha Train Mishap: Howrah-Bhubaneswar Janshatabdi Express & 8 Others Cancelled, 21 Diverted



Jajpur: Services of several trains originating and passing through East Coast Railway (ECoR) jurisdiction were affected after a goods train derailed in Odisha’s Jajpur district, an official release said on Monday.

It is pertinent to mention here that the diverted trains like 18046 Hyderabad-Shalimar East Coast Express, 22852 Bangalore-Santragachi Express, 22641 Trivendrum-Shalimar Express, 12864 Bangalore-Howrah Express, 22305 Bangalore-Jasidih Express, 22808 Chennai-Santragachi Express; decided to run via Jakhapura and Jaroli routes will accommodate the stranded passengers at Haridaspur and Jakhapura.

While 30 passengers at Jakhapura and 300 at Haridaspur were stranded, around 45 passengers from Haridaspur station were transported to Jajpur Keonjhar Road, Bhadrak, Balasore, Chandikhole, by road.

Notably, the railways have provided free food and water to stranded passengers over its jurisdiction. Free Bus services have also been provided for the transportation of stranded passengers at Haridaspur station.
