‘Human Error’: Odisha Actor Buddhaditya Mohanty Apologies For Controversial Post On Rahul Gandhi

Bhubaneswar: Ollywood actor Buddhaditya Mohanty again apologised on Monday for his controversial social media post about senior Congress leader and Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi.

In a video message, the actor termed the post as a ‘human error’ and tendered an apology to the Congress party. “I had realised that the post, which I had based on rumours floating around on social media, was a mistake and also deleted it. I had earlier apologised for it on Facebook,” he said.

On October 18, State NSUI president Udit Pradhan filed a complaint at Capital police station, demanding action against the actor for the post.

Buddhaditya in his post on Facebook allegedly suggested that after killing Baba Siddique, gangster Lawrence Bishnoi’s next target should be Congress MP Rahul Gandhi. “Germany had the Gestapo… Israel has the Mossad… USA has the CIA… now India has Lawrence Bishnoi… next in the list should be Owaisi and Rahul Gandhi,” he wrote.

Amid the backlash, the actor apologised the same day in another Facebook post. “My last post regarding Rahul Gandhiji..was never to target..harm, demean him in any way..nor write anything against him..unintentionally if I affected anyone’s sentiments..my intention was not this…I offer my sincere apologies..regards (sic).”

Siddique, a Congress-turned-NCP leader, was shot dead in Mumbai on October 12.
