Cuttack: After registering a case, police launched a thorough investigation into the death of Ollywood playback singer Humane Sagar with plan to summon and examine all individuals named in the First Information Report (FIR).
Sharing details of the progress in the case, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Additional DCP) Amarendra Panda said the probe has begun based on the complaint filed by the singer’s mother. Police will follow the laid down procedure and issue notices to all those named in the complaint as part of the investigation, he said.
Stressing that all evidence and witnesses will be examined, he said an FIR has been registered and everyone named in it will be summoned and questioned by the police.
The police action follows a formal complaint lodged by Humane Sagar’s mother, Shefali Suna, who approached the Markat Nagar police station in Cuttack seeking a fair and transparent investigation into the circumstances surrounding her son’s death.
Based on the complaint, a case has been registered at Cuttack’s Markat Nagar police station on the basis of a complaint by the late singer’s mother Sephali Suna, the case was under Sections 356 (2), 61 (2) (B), 318 (4), 115 (2), 351 (B) and 305 of the BNS.

The singer’s mother has sought a transparent and evidence-based investigation into ‘untimely and suspicious death of Humane Sagar.
The 36-year-old singer died on November 17 while undergoing treatment at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bhubaneswar where he was admitted on November 14.
He was diagnosed with bilateral pneumonia, acute chronic liver failure (ACLF), multi-organ dysfunction syndrome and other complications. It was alleged that the singer was being forced to work despite his poor health, leading to his untimely death.
