Hyundai’s new popular compact SUV Venue has received over 50K bookings within 2 months of its launch. During the launch of Grand i10 Nios, Hyundai, revealed that the existing 1.4-litre and 1.6-litre diesel engines will be discontinued once BS6 norms come into force in April 2020.
Hyundai will be using the 1.5-litre diesel engine used in sister company Kia’s Seltos in place of the 1.4-litre diesel variant of the Venue, according to a report in Autocar India.
The 1.5-litre diesel engine is BS6 complaint and comes in two states of tune:
– 115hp power and 250Nm of torque (with Variable Geometry Turbocharger)
– 90hp power and 220Nm of torque (without VGT)
The Venue will get the lower tuned version of the 1.5 diesel. Currently, the Venue is available in 1.2-litre petrol, 1.0-litre petrol and 1.4-litre diesel engines.
We can except the 1.5 in higher tune with VGT to replace Hyundai’s 1.6-litre diesel engines in the Creta and Verna.
