Puri: Health and Family Welfare Minister Mukesh Mahaling and Puri MP Dr Sambit Patra danced along with young performers to celebrate the 78th Independence Day at the district level flag hoisting event here on Thursday.
The two dignitaries were seen dancing to the tune of several Odissi and Sambalpuri songs in the midst of mild drizzles, with a large number of spectators enjoying the camaraderie.
Mahaling said he was very happy to see the enthusiasm and patriotism of youngsters. “It was raining, still the youth were so enthusiastic, I could not resist and joined them. It was a very nice experience. This is the land of Lord Jagannath. I pray the Lord to bless this new Government in Odisha.”
Puri Collector Siddharth Shankar Swain and SP Pinak Mishra were present on the occasion.
