Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police have arrested an Indian Air Force (IAF) ground staff on charges of sexually exploiting and cheating a woman on the pretext of marriage.
According to sources, the IAF personnel, identified as Golaka Bihari Dixit, was picked up from the Market Building area in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday as he was reportedly preparing to return to his posting at Ladakh. The native of Itamati in Nayagarh district was later forwarded to court.
Police took him into custody after he ignored multiple summons on the basis of the complaint lodged by the woman at Baragada police station on November 6. The woman has accused Dixit of cheating, sexual exploitation and breach of trust. She further alleged that he was simultaneously in a relationship with another woman and had made similar marriage promises to her.
When arrested, Dixit was reportedly found in the company of the second woman to whom he had also promised marriage.
A case was registered against him under Sections 69, 296(B), 351(2), and 115(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). He was produced before a local court following his arrest.
