Cuttack: The Commissionerate Police have arrested a security guard, working at the Nayasark branch of Indian Info Line Finance Ltd (IIFL), for his alleged involvement in the multicrore daylight heist in the private finance company.
The arrested has been identified as Harmohan Das, an associate of prime accused Lala Amrit Ray. He was nabbed from Jajpur district on Saturday.
With this, the number of arrests in the IIFL robbery case has gone up to 11.
According to Cuttack DCP Prateek Singh, Das had travelled to Choudwar on November 16 to meet other accused at Baideswar Colony to chalk out the robbery plan.
Police seized one Maruti Suzuki Swift bearing registration no – OR-02-BK-1415 and one Ertiga bearing registration no – OD-05-AS-1095 from his house during the search, the DCP added.
Seven days after the loot on November 19, police had arrested seven persons, including the mastermind Lala Amrit Ray.
Lala Amrit Sagar Ray, who was working in the company for the past five years, along with a senior woman officer of the private finance company, Nilima Lenka of Purighat, had allegedly planned the loot.

Two gold traders, Saroj Prusty and Lalit Kumar Sodhi of Mangalabag and Alamchand Bazar respectively were also arrested and forwarded to the court on November 26 and 27.

On Saturday, Police Commissioner Sudhanshu Sarangi had told the media that the prime accused and some unscrupulous employees had started the process of manipulating gold ornaments mortgaged at the finance company in 2016.

So far, 10.3 Kg stolen gold ornaments, Rs 7.36 lakh in cash, One Audi Car, One Maruti Suzuki Swift, One Ertiga car, One Bajaj Pulsar Motor Cycles, One Honda Dream Yuga Motor Cycle, One Royal Enfield Classic Bullet have been seized from the accused.
Further investigation and the recovery process is on.
